Default Locking Trans into Sport Mode (00011)

Hey I was just wondering if anyone know any reasons why not to lock the transmission on my 1997 A8 4.2 quattro into the sport mode. ie. gas mileage, transmission life, etc. Obviously there is much to be gained but are there any drawbacks? Thanks guys,
P.S. I am in the market for a set of rims and tires 255/40/19 if any body has some them are selling. Thanks

Default 00011 is working great on my car...00001 was terrible for me...other have had better results with 01

there is no drawback to changing it. it just allows for a more responsive, less grandpa drive

Default I'vehad 00011 for about a year. It is better especially in tip mode (holds 1st gear)

but otherwise, a bit better with hunt/thump... but not perfect.

Default obviously, gas mileage will go down a bit in Tip b/c you are holding it in 1st longer.....

I didnt notice any changes in Drive.
