I guess they aren't ZF specialists..bummer - I don't know if works like when you do insuraance repairs, but when I hit a deer with my wifes vw, the place recommended by my insurance company did a horrible job putting the front of the engine back together, so I ended up having my normal indy mech redo all the mechanical stuff, and the insurance company ate the bill...total cost for both jobs was around $6400...I think its time you tried something similar...
