Looks like I am adding a sub to my trunk

I have one 12" Alpine Type R dual voice coil in an acoustic suspension box and an Alpine MRP-350 amp

I also took out the ski boot and leave my arm rest down. I think a 12" is a good all round driver for rock, jazz, and top 40 type music. If I had it to do it again, I would not get an Alpine sub because it delaminated on me after the warranty ran out. My stereo shop got me another one for only $50 so I got another Alpine, but this one has held up for a couple of years now.

I would highly recommend a bass **** because if you tend to listen to different types or eras of music, you will tend use the **** quite often.

ohbw, can you post the settings for your subwoofer / amp?
Paul, I totally agree about the bass in the S8 - so disappointing. I have an Infinity BassLink aimed from the trunk at the ski bag aperture (ski bag removed, arm rest always down). The improvement makes this mod so necessary. I have been tweaking it to get the right sound with certain types of music.
ohbw - curious what crossover settings, dB output, LPF, ISF, input sensitivity, phase, bass boost, etc. you used to get the best sound in your D2. Do you have a reachable rheostat near the driver seat to increase/decrease the bass when switching between genres of music? Did you have to use a line level converter from the rear speakers? Thanks in advance.

High value small box sub
Works in as little as 0.3 cu. ft. Very high SQ.
Note that most high displacement subs have high inductance and have an in-box peak at 80 Hz or so. This one, and several more expensive units, have shorting rings in the magnetic circuit to reduce inductance.

High value small box sub
