OK,
So I took off the belly pan last w/e to try to find the sensor for the washer fluid tank. I banged the tank and wiggled it to try to free up the sensor, but the sensor was still malfunctioning.
I then took out the pass. side headlight and located 2 pumps on the tank. I think one is for the headlights (white pump) and one is for the windshield (black pump). Again I tapped the pumps, but the washer fluid symbol still illuminates in the dash. I then disconnected the wiring to the black pump and the warning symbol in the dash went off... but now the windshield washer pump doesn't work.
So I can conclude that the low washer sensor is built into the pump. Does anyone have any experience in swapping in a new pump? Looks difficult!
Thanks, Ed
