Default Lurker here since I've considered buying... this

Picked it up last weekend. Passed 55555 miles at 11:17 am on 11/17.....

I've perused the D2 FAQ and buying guide, and looked at a smattering of posts on what's VAG-COMmable. Even did the windows and locks changes this evening, and put in yellow fog lights.

Is there a code to make the car think its in Europe w.r.t. the lighting scheme? (i.e., European parking lights?)-- On my B7 Avant it was Module 09 Central Electronics, but that module doesn't even register on the S8. Must be an age thing...(age of the car, that is).

Hafta think of a better plate than silver40v, oh, wait, won't fit.

I'd guess it's a "stripper" as it doesn't have Navi or parktronic, which is fine, ... I'm really thinking my only mod will be RNS-E
(+ Bluetooth), well.... roadtrip to Corpus Christi maybe??????

My first S-car, and my first Audi (or any car) without a clutch pedal in 20+ years...

Somebody stop me......

Default Congratulations and welcome to the club - good start picking silver as it well documented...

...they are the fastest of the S8's.

By the way, your pearl 90 V8q looks great - how long have you had that one in your stable?

Anyway, welcome again, you'll find this forum filled with great and very helpful souls.

Default hence the "trip to Corpus" ;-)

that's where the V8Q went from a 5-speed to a 6-speed.....

but I see you're the man with the plan for a 6MT in a D2 ... and not 1500 miles away

......possibly in time

carbon fiber would be cool, though, and Euro tails....

and is it some sort of cosmic message that I just saw an ad for the new Transporter movie? "A man's only as good as the car he drives" was the declaration. ;-)

Just out of curiosity, what would it cost to convert a 97 A8 to stick shift?

Default Awesome, congrats Chris you finally made the jump! Cool. As Justin said, silver...

...FTMFW!

Nice score, that's a great clock!

Funny, 2 new silver '01s to the fray here within the past week. Breaks the black streak from last year 8-).

Best of luck to you should you re-rendezvous w/ Mr. DeWitt - that'd just be beyond cool!

And

would then prerequisite your 8/09 CT adventure 8-).

Report back! Madman!

Default Congratulations! Silver is the "only" color for a German car(well, maaayybe black).

I don't have Nav or parktronic which is fine. I also have the comfort seats which I love. So nice to park my behind in after the end of a workday.
