Default mAgnum8 - fuel pump from AutoHauz

Just double checking, this is the one you used correct?

aboveallmotorworks has a VDO unit listed with a part # of 8AO 906 091 which I think might be the same for $125.

I might just order the Bosch though for a little more money if you know it works.

How did you cross reference to this Bosch unit? Did you use the 69420 part #?

thanks,

I didn't cross reference, another listed did that for us.
I used the Bosch fuel pump, it works fine. You have to make sure and do the procedure exactly as it tells you on the Bentley. That's the main thing. Due to the shape of the tank and the complexity of the pick up hoses.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a8/msgs/175157.phtml</a

Default ok, thanks. Yeah, seems like this can be a little tricky to get right.

that's part of the reason I'm doing this as a preventative maintenance so I can take my time.

Default I did a little more research on the Bosch part number (69420). This pump is used in a lot...

of Audi/VW models and is easy to get for under $175.

I used a '93 Audi V8 as my cross reference. So, if anyone needs a pump now, mAgnum8 verfied that the Bosch pump works.

I'm going to take this one step further and see if the VDO pump listed before will work too. It's a little cheaper at $125. I'll order it or the Bosch tomorrow and do the install in a couple of weeks.

Just got this back from Autohaus:

"we do show that part numbers 8A0 906 091G and 8A0 906 091A are interchangeable with the Bosch fuel pump 0 580 453 081. This fuel pump is listed in our online catalog as part number 69420 and was used on various Audi models from 1991 through 1997"

Advance can order the Bosch pump $175, Napa can too use an "N" prefix $210.

Default spoke with Bosch, they confirm that 69420 crosses to VDO 8A0906091

I just ordered it from aboveallmotorworks.com for $127 shipped.

If you can wait a couple of weeks, I'll confirm that it's a direct swap. I would get the Bosch if you need something right away.
