more oil leaks

It seems like my 99 A8 with 73,000 has been plagued with oil leak problems. I've had the value cover gasket replaced and a cam cover seal changed in the past, and just had an oil sending unit replaced for the second time in just over a year. Plus, the dealer said it looks like I have another leak and wants me to bring it back in a week, they put dye in the oil. The oil was leaking from the front passenger side of the car, just to the drivers side of the passenger tire and just to the front of it. Where else could oil be leaking from? The dealer said it could be the cylinder head, has anyone seen that?
Thanks for you advice!

The valve cover leak is very common (boo hiss!), and the cam cover seal should be replaced with the timing belt (not time for you quite yet, though).

happened with my '97 (the eventual reason I sold the car).....had a bunch of seals checked and replaced, in addition to the head gasket, then the oil filter housing started to have a problem, never found out if it was the seal (would have been a $500 fix due to the extensive labor to get to it) or the housing itself (add a grand for parts, ain't Audis fun to fix!!!!!) as I sold the car before fixing it

But not much at all. However, 1 tablespoon of an oil appears to be a quart.
My oil level won't go down between 7500 to 10000 mile oil changes. The dealer never took the plastic off the engine and stated that it's the head gasket. I will change the valve cover gasket first then figure it out.
It wasn't leaking when I bought the car, but I could tell it started leaking because it drips to the bottom of the oil pan, noticable when doing an oil change.
Is it really that hard to mass produce an engine that doesn't leak oil? Maybe I'm asking too much, but there are a lot of leaks on expensive Audis. Probably other brands too.

As the owner of a 1968 E-Type, I have first-hand experience with the British car's proclivity to leak/seep oil. And everything they say about Lucas electric is true, and then some! You would think that in a country that sees rainfall for a majority of their year, they would be able to at least TRY to waterproof their electrical systems. In my experience, cotton is NOT very waterproof! (For those of you not in the know, the early British cars used cotton insulated electrical wiring!)
