Default Misfire 2000 rpm

Hi.

First time using this. I have a 2002 S8 AVP I think. Its runs great. It starts great and if I put my foot down it pulls brilliantly. But if I lightly put my foot on the throttle at about 2000 rpm it shakes and misfires but there's no codes. New plugs. ECU bench tested.

I am at a loss.

I only have a cheap code reader. Anyone know the best type to use.

Check the intake for cracks, loose connections. Clean the MAF. Sounds like unmetered air is getting in. Could also be PCV related I suppose, air leak there. Split PCV hose or blown honker valve.

i have had same problem with two D2's, no solution. id say very related.
i tried a second pvc honker valve still honked. didnt have a thrid to try so maybe symptom or another bad valve
anybody know Bently procedure for ecu or ever solved this issue?????

Misfire as well as a honker issue?
On my old car I bought a cheap honker valve and it honked a bit now and again but it'd quiet down if I shot some deep creep or the like down it's honker. Figured I'd replace it one day but never got around to it.
For the misfire a smoke test is probably warranted. A swisher sweet and the little cheapo hand pump from harbor freight works very well for this.
The MAF might need to be cleaned or replaced. Maybe the Torque app would get you live MAF data if you do not have another way to get it.
