Default Musty AC smell

Been running the AC all summe. When it first comes on, it has a musty stink. Anyone have a cure? Thanks.

I think you will get the same answer from almost everyone.....Clear your evaporator drains. I had the same problem and then my car flooded...twice. Finally the dealer says they retrofited something so it wouldnt happen again. Below is the link. Default I wonder if it's also due to a low freon charge

Mine makes that smell for a few seconds (now minutes) after start up, I have a recurring freon leak in the system.

If I don't use recirc, I can't even cool the car, and it takes about 10-15 minutes to get it comfortable.

You might also have a low freon charge, how's the performance of the system in hot weather?

PW have you been able to isolate the leak? Mine was comming from the low press sensor O-ring

Default Haven't tried, but it does have dye in the system

Where is the low pressure o-ring? On the low pressure cut out switch near the hood hinge?

That would be easy to replace, will have to bring it back and check for dye
