I think you will get the same answer from almost everyone.....Clear your evaporator drains. I had the same problem and then my car flooded...twice. Finally the dealer says they retrofited something so it wouldnt happen again. Below is the link. Mine makes that smell for a few seconds (now minutes) after start up, I have a recurring freon leak in the system.
If I don't use recirc, I can't even cool the car, and it takes about 10-15 minutes to get it comfortable.
You might also have a low freon charge, how's the performance of the system in hot weather?
