Will the integrated phone ever work with mmi?
I am told that the handsfree works via voice activation with storage for 20 entries. Is this correct? I am also told that the phone installed is $980. Kind of discouraging!

At some point, the phone will integrate with MMI and that point will complete your car. But in the meantime, ENJOY!!!! The phone costs should drop if you can hold out.

Audi strikes again. Just picked up my wife's (my) A4 cab. Q. All appeared fine, until we tried to activate the XM, which was ordered, appeared on the monroney, and whose supplement was included with the radio instructions. After tryimng in vain, the GM came down with a memo dated today that stated "We apologize for the inconvieniece, but due to unanticipated demand, we are experiencing a parts shortage and your customers car may not have the XM unit installed." Customers may opt for a $350.00 refund and receive a corrected sticker, or may wait until the part becomes available again.

This is amazing to me. They just notified the dealers today about a missing option, incorrect sticker, and out of stock position on cars being delivered today. What is the matter with these people? First on the new A8, now on the new quattro cab.? I am in a word angry.

Also the owners manual has numerous errors, ommisions, and additions. It shows options not available. Discusses ther on-star telematics package that can not be ordered, as well as many other ithems not in or available on the car.

Helper, there seems to be two options lists, one for Europe and one for the U.S. and the printer cant get it right! I just finished responding to Buybeach and I saw your post. I am learning that the largest defect in AoA is public relations, not the lack of such, but the inability to see how important it is. Whats your next move? My worry now is that it appears that a number of dealers dont know there a-- from a hole in the ground and we need support at that level. Without the credibility of zone reps that know what they are doing and do not practice doublespeak, servicing could become a nightmare. There is power and safety in numbers so I suggest that the owners having difficulties get a plan together of how to approach AoA in a collective manner, nonbeligerant but to the point. Figure out what it is that you want, be reasonable and go after it.

Default Maybe you guys should try a different make of car

I am amazed at all the things you guys complain about. Is it hard to believe that a car dealer doesn't know anything about their product?

It doesn't matter what you buy, you can always learn more about the product than the people who sell it to you. From Home Depot to Audi.

I'm sure the logistics of gettting a car and all of it's options correct when something is released much be huge.

So go have the XM installed by a local guy.

I have, many times. I really like my dealer, and his staff, or I would do just that. I like the audi product, just not the communication issues with Audi of America.

As far as having someone else do it, it woul dbe an option if it could be done for the $350.00 check I would get if I cancelled the unit. I believe the labor plus unit is probably double that.

My goodness. I thought I had an beef, but this is a new low! What's next, "Sorry, we put a smaller motor in 'cause we ran out of the good ones?"

Alas, an outfit that can pull this off is never going to solve the b/s that's wrong on my car. I think I'll turn it on and shut the rollup door (joke).
