So have ins call it totalled, but 'elect' to keep the car and have them give you a check
for the replacement value minus the salvage value.
THEN go buy used parts in the correct color (if possible) from a 'junk' A8 of (preferably) 01+ vintage (new front fascia and lights) for a fraction of the cost and have a trusted body shop straighten everything and install the parts.
You'll be ahead of the game by thousands of dollars, and have an upgraded car. While you're at it buy an 01 rear bumper to complete the 'update'.
If I were you I'd be happy right now! An 01 upgrade for free (minus your premium increase?)
