<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/96745/d3.jpg"></center><p>maybe the thicker door trims close the width in.
Powerful and smooth.
horrid interior color though-puke cream and far too much of it.

Default A loaner? What's that???

j/k - So many dealers have cut off any loaner program...nice to see there are still a few out there that take care of the customer!

Default yeah, but he lives in upsidedown land...they are still nice down there!

Nice ride...now, a serious question...how would you compare the two (D2 vs. D3)...the d3 is obviously newer but just overall...ive always wondered

Kiddin' me? Dealer service, incl. loaner, IS how I select my dealer--or brand, for that matter

A nice NZ springtime picture. We're just losing our leaves now.

Default But what do you do when they change their policy afterwards? That happened to me...

one of the reasons I bought an Audi int he first place was the loaner program, which was discontinued about 4 months after I bought the car (general manager claimed skyrocketing costs).

Not really that big of a deal now, as I work across the street from an Audi/VW-only indy shop, so not many more reasons to go to the dealer now...unless something covered under aftermarket warranty.

.. with a Victorian flavor.

Default I know. Almost happened with my Audi dealer when they changed owner, but they realized it's a perk

that customers expect, especially as Audi keeps on raising its MSRP prices on new, more expensive vehicle versions, and they brought it back... Talk to the GM and let him know that this is a serious reason to defect his dealership and/or brand (if you don't have a recourse of another Audi dealer in your area).

Default Yes -built in 1926 and oddly referred to here as a californian bungalow

The stone work is from the volcanic rock from the hills behind us which form the rim of an old volcano [now our harbour]

Default Well I thought I would be dissapointed to get back in the D2 but.....

was pleasantly surprised to find that was not the case at all.
The D3 was comfortable in the seat department and the gadget value with air adjustable suspension and keyless operation was cool.
the most surprising non improvement was the closing of the boot and the associated clunk but with the auto function that would be solved.
Certainly more power and the six speed auto that becomes five speed in sport was smooth and responsive unlike the five speed D2's that I have driven.
For $50,000.00 nzd difference I am happy with what I drive
