Default I run WS50s ... they are as hardcore as you can get without studs. For your more Southern climate ..

.. try the Blizzak LM 22 or 25 ... they are snows but less hardcore and more genteel.

Default The BEST tire for snow is NOKIAN Haka 3. NO competition.......

Please trust me on this one. Had them on my old 5.0 Mustang slamed to the ground. You could take a corner without even letting off the gas. Have them on my S4 now and i can't even explain how ammmmazing they are with all-wheel drive.

Can't say anything more about it.

TRUST ME on this . A little $$$ but you'll never want another tire.

Default Re: Dunlops Vs Blizzaks...

I run the Blizzaks from mid-Dec thru mid-March every year here in West Michigan. Big improvement over my P Zero Nero summer tires. They will dig through everything, but feel slightly squirrelly over 80 mph...

How much snow do you get out there? DC is on and off snow once in a little while...

Default Re: We get a lot of snow

Good point. DC probably does not require a snow tire as serious as the Blizzak...

Default I think I'm leaning towards the Dunlops. TireRack has them for $144 each plus $38 for Fedex 2-day

Goodyear in Arlington(?) says it's $15.95 each tire for balancing and $3 for removal fees (each tire or single I don't know).

Should I get the road hazzard warranty for winter tires that will only be on the car 3 months per year? How long does that last anyway?
