My poor baby - pothole just bent my rims. AWD I can't drive on one 17" stock and three 19" right?

I used to have studded Hakkas when I lived in Montreal, and absolutely nothing would stop them.
Now that I live in Europe and get a chance of driving through Germany every so often, I need non-studded V-rated tires (rated up to 240 kph = 150 mph).
Just got a set of Continental Conti WinterContact TS 790 XL's on 16" OEM wheels. Haven't tried them on snow and ice yet -only wet and dry cold- but for now I'm very pleased. Will report later.

Do Bridgestone Blizzak Tires Live up to Their Reputation?
The Tire Rack has been the largest single source of Blizzak studless winter tires in the United States since their introduction in 1993. We have tested them on ice and in the snow, as well as driven on them through South Bend, Indiana's "mild" and "wild" winters. We have found that no All-Season tire or other winter tire has matched the Blizzak's confidence-inspiring combination of deep snow, packed snow and ice traction.
On a side note, I tried to find the Hakka 3 someplace, to look at it but all I could find were Hakka 1, 2, and 4 ...

**** enough anymore to avoid every bump. Life happens. That really sucks about that though. I have a friend that owns a S4 in Baltimore. I think I heard about writing the Dept of Transportation or the city for some restitution.

Goodyear does make a good winter tire: Eagle Ultra Grip M&S GW-2(97V) directional tread. One of the few higher speed rated tires that actually feel good at triple digits. MN Highway Patrol actually has used these tires all year long, probably because of the logistics of having to change from winter to summer. The LS are to be avoided at all costs!

Banal, there is a place called Ye Olde Wheel Shop in Elkridge, MD. I've used them many times in the past to repair bent rims on the SVX; they should be able to fix it. But in the meanwhile, you should probably switch to all the 17's until it's done.
