Thanks to the threads recently about it, I always wondered why my steering wheel stopped retracting. So what did I do? Push the little button in on the steering wheel so it energizes the circuit.

I don't know if I like it or not, but it does it!

My remote fob stopped working about 2 weeks ago, then it worked once or twice a couple of days later, then it stopped for good.

Got new batteries for it, that's not the problem. I will have to troubleshoot! It really is a PITA to use the key to lock and unlock the doors.....

the button on the side of the stearing wheel operates this function. The key fob will probably need renewing and programing at VAG....... aprox £69.00 inclusive.......JOHNA84.2

If the new batteries didn't work, then the culprit is likely the fob itself not something in the car. Buy a replacement fob off of ebay for $20 and try it out.

More like $25 for a fob on eBay, $50 or $60 to cut a key, and we reprogram ourselves with VAG-COM

....I am having a couple of keys programmed for my car at the dealer using the "secret code". I'll post the fee for this once it's done.

I took out my original key fob and programmed it to the car, no problem.

Will have to get a new one form ebay!
