Nav question from a new owner
I just picked up my car this week... a 2000 A8. What a great car. This is my second Audi, a big change from the 1987 5000 Turbo I owned 15 years ago!
I started playing with the navigation system this morning and the display told me I needed to insert the disk (which I found in the glove box). Problem is, I can't get the unit in the trunk to accept the disk??? The light is RED? Nothing comes out if I hit the eject button, and it just doesn't accept the new disk?
This board has been a great resource. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Alan

Re: Nav question from an new owner
my advice is to unplug the nav drive, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in. For cd units this usually resets the cd drive and they start working if it isnt actually broken. it is worth a shot.

disconnected and reconnected, but no change. hooked VAG up and pulled 00668
00668 Supply voltage Terminal 30
signal too low, intermitant
that code is also present in address 17: Instruments.
Mr bentley says possible causes...
Battery flat or overcharged, or alternator faulty.
