Default Need to do the front end control arms on the A8.....

Well about 2 months ago, the passenger side on my A8 started making noise (knocking around). Then a month later the drivers side followed suite. Just before the trip to a wedding last weekend I decided I needed rotate the tires and the front passenger is getting some inside ware pretty bad.
So I need to replace the control arms since I cant trade up right now.
I was looking at BlauParts today and they have two different kits. So I get the Meyle kit or the Ocap of Italy kit? Or should I be looking some where else?
I got the whole turkey week off so I want to order this weekend.

Thanks
Britt

Default If you're going to keep the car....you might consider dealer parts

They have appeared to outlast everything else.

Default I thought I remember reading that some where else....

I just wanted to get a fresh check on the situation.
The question is how much would the parts cost through the dealer?
I did have a pretty sweet hookup through the local dealer, not sure if thats still available to me or not.
What about the so called weak OEM tie rod links?

The OEM tie-rod links are the strongest ones in my experience.

Default Do not buy the Meyle control arms.

I put them on 2 years ago and now they need to be replaced again.

Default The Meyle arms I put on this summer feel like they are going already..

clunking when going over small bumps. I think I will go OEM for at least the lower control arms and tie rods next time.

Default maybe....maybe not

many Febi parts are now made in China. there are evidently some European made Febi CA's to be had...but I'd be VERY careful about what goes on the car. Just because the word "Germany" is stamped into a part doesn't mean it was actually made in Germany. What it comes down to is the only way you or I can tell where a Febi part was made is by a sticker on the box. So much for any kind of certainty....what if the stickers saying 'made in China' just happened to get left of a batch of boxes?

Follow the links to the correspondence I had with the US Febi rep who explained the whole stinking morass.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/2853209.phtml</a
