New A8 in the fleet........
Added a 97 A8 to the fleet (135K miles - a little high for my tastes). Has a rebuilt ZF tranny (with receipt for $6.5K - ouch) and drives like a dream. Lots of recent service to the tune of $2.5K - double ouch (front suspension, valve cover gasket, water pump, battery, serp. belt etc.). Picked it up for $4.7K. So far am very happy, hopefully it won't be a maint. nightmare. Will need to do the timing belt in about 15K miles. I have lusted for an A8 for years, the bad thing is this one is going to be my wife's ride. Now I have S8 fever - I am considering selling the S6 and getting into a S8.

Wow! great deal
Very good price for what was done to it. You should be good to go on the maintenance for a while. You have a lucky wife. Now get on that S8 (like I should talk...someday)!!
