I havent been able to find anything about issues with these cars other than the standard trans problems. Anything I should look for? Looking at a few.. one with 74k one with 122k and one with about 113k. prices are reasonable (between $8k and 12k). Also I would like more info on all the options and standard features of the 97/98 a8's. any help is apreciated.

Rather than hoping you won't have a problem, why don't you buy mine that already does? Timing belt needs to be done around 95K miles. So make sure it was done (documented) when you buy an A8 or S8 that has more than 95K on the odometer.<ul><li><a href="http://www.audipages.com/usedA8.html">http://www.audipages.com/usedA8.html</a</li></ul>

I have already seen it. It's not bad but that trans error is a little intimidating. I like everything else about it. nice color too.

How much can you get 99 for?

If possible, try to get 99 and 98.

Interested in a green 98 for around 11? Had timing belt done about a month ago (have receipt and old parts), has 89K on it. e-mail me for picts if interested.

I will look for as new as I can get financing for... if thats a 2000 then I will get a 2000. But so far a 98 is about it...
