New BMW 5's series are bigger than our A8? My wife swore that her friend's new BMW 530 is longer,
wider and taller the our A8? Is this true? I need to get the specs for these 2. I always thought that the 5's are the same as the A6.

much heavier :-(

New 5 series is 10cm shorter and 3cm narrower than the SWB D2
And less roomy too. The BMW may appear spacious due to the 'exposed' interior (which I don't like one bit), but the A8/S8 surely has more room. ;-)

Now I understand why, park side by side, the BMW looks so bulky and seems a lot bigger than the
smooth line of the A8. The BMW butt is large, tall, and the body look so much thicker than the A8. Well it does look bigger but I guess it's not. You can't argue with the specs.

And the Audi is made of aluminum. Damn. Is anyone familiar with the particulars of this weight difference? Yes, additional running gear for Quattro is part of it, and yes, the Audi's a slightly larger car, but does anyone know about the rest? Sheesh, 600 lbs is equivalent to a couple NFL tackles as permanent passengers.
