Default New and rocking: undisguised A8 spy pics!

Is this it? They do seem the most likely pics I've ever seen. Thank you, Auto Zeitung!

It looks very big and stretched, said to be 5.05m. The repositioning of the wheels contribute to that effect.

They sure look like spy pics. Even though I think the badge on the last pic has been tampered with. Can't wait to see it in real life.

Default Looks the most like some descriptions I've heard from Audi folks.

A more radical look was also seriously considered, but scaled back with the BMW debacle.

Default Looks awful nice, and ...

.
if the 5.05m is correct, it's only very slightly longer than the current A8 at 5.03, and still much shorter than the A8L at 5.16, which is fine with me.

Default I don't know what to say...

Thanks for posting these pics!

Unfortunately I didn't get a wow!-feeling. Maybe it's the photography, my love for the current model A8, or I don't know what.

I have a feeling I'll change my mind later though...

Default I know what you mean...

about not getting that "wow" feeling. I think that it's because it's quite similar to the existing car.

But I'm willing to bet that, like most Audis, this car will be beautiful in person.

Default What happened to those desert pics of a blue A8 with A4-like headlights we saw long ago?

I can't find them anymore. They looked most realistic of any pics, and looked like Audi style photos. However, probably too early in product cycle to be real.

The headlights were like the new A4 headlights. The double grille looked very similar to this here, but more like the current A8. The door trim had a chrome/Aluminum highlight like the Passat. The cars were parked on/near rocks and such, like when the new A4 pics came out.

I can't find a copy, and my bookmarks led to an auto site which didn't seem to have them any more.

Default It might have been at this german site (nice Alfa Brera article)

I bookmarked it last July 21, 2001, but can't find the pics now (can't read German).

<a href="http://www.auto.t-online.de/AU/DE/de/homepage.jhtml?navi_param=test_technik&news_ne wsart=autotests&area_navigation=fahrberichte&a mp;report=bericht&repId=%2FAU%2FDE%2Fde%2Fcont entrepositories%2FDE_de_Test_Technik_drivingTe
