Yeah, no maintenance until the timing chain has to be replaced at 100k, which probably means removing the engine on this car. Can we get an audipages writeup on that one, PaulW?

How else could they come out with exciting "upgrades" for the next model year?
What's the super high-end exotic car which uses our 4.2L Audi engine ... they remove the BS and it puts out 420HP for them. Easy Peasey.
I've said it before, but developing 100hp per liter is easy if you are the OEM factory. Cams, pistons, heads, intake/exhaust. The tricky bit comes if you are the end-user.
Sure you can perfect the flow in your heads, intake, and exhaust, then shave the clearance a little to bump up compression in the chamber .. but then what .. you want to take on designing and making custom camshafts plus decode/recode the ECU the handle it all? Most of the work you did is worthless without camshafts that take advantage of it. BAH.
The factory has no incentive to give you everything you want. So they don't.
BTW this reminds me. What ever happened to the Forum member who tore down his 4.2, did a full hotrod porting/polishing job, dropped in custom pistons and CUSTOM CAMSHAFTS ... the last I heard, the motor was assembled and ready to go .. like 6 months ago.

Funny things is, unless I missed something the article does not say anything about if and when it will come to the U.S. market.
We could be waiting several years before that even happens.

the look has grown on me, after seeing it the flesh. looking at the new a6 and a3/a4 against the old, and the old ones look, err, old. the a6 looks sharp, particulalry in dark colours, and turns heads.
