Default New Throttle Position Sensor -Values

Comparative values on the TPS that arrived today. (It's -3 out there, so waiting for a warmer time to install)

With the handy DVM

1-2 = 2.165 k ohm
2-3 = 1.063 k ohm
2-3 = Wot 2.898 K OHM

AND JUST FOR YUKS 1-3 = 2.838 k ohm & .948 k ohm

Closed throttle position works fine! open/closed

Where there is life, there is hope!

Default Evidently

The evidence seen by logging groups 7 and 9 in the transmission (Thank you VAG-COM) suggests as much Ground, or flakey variable resistance, when the signal starts at five volts, and passes through 1-3 kilo ohms, small changes can mean big problems!

I truely hope we can put an end to this witch hunt! I'm working on a Storage O-scope to better characterize the TCM inputs and outputs. BUT This TPI sitting next to me sure looks sweet!, Heck How many actuations does a throttle get in 100K and 7 years? I wouldn't expect a longer sevice life, but that the defect shows in the transmission is just sinister!

Perhaps all fale hope. I wait for the data logs after the change.

Paul: The proof is in the putting.( putting on the replacement hardware!)

Now, what should we do about that thump?

? Log the N218 performance and look for an abrupt transition due to ??????
