I had a slow leak turn into a fast leak the other day, so I went over to Les Schwab to get it looked at. The tread was getting very slim on the 225/55 Bridgestone Turanza Revos that were on the car when I bought it anyway.

The mechanic found 2 punctures near the edge of the tread, and they were within 6 inches of each other. Rather than spend money to fix this damaged, almost worn out tire, I decided to replace all 4 tires with 245/45 Z-rated Toyo Proxes T1-S rubber (also a Falken dealer, I asked about the 451's, but they were a special order).

What a difference! These tires really bring out the best in the A8: no squeal, phenomenal grip, *way* faster cornering speeds. They are mildy noisier than the previous rubber, but the ride seems much improved, perhaps because the ride is now firmer. It just feels a lot smoother overall and taking turns a bit faster doesn't make my wife so scared <ul><li><a href="http://www.nakedhoof.com">http://www.nakedhoof.com</a</li></ul>
