I found a lot of information in the archives, but still have a few questions.
1) Passenger exterior mirror has a bronze tint to it all the time, is this normal?
2) Any one have any tips on how to fix the "sticky" glove box problem? (I saw some one post about using an actuator to open it - sounds cool - how'd you do it?)
TIA

Both of mine are bronzed around the corners. I have never had a car with the mirrors bronzing up. I guess it is signs of aging on the cheap factory tint. I was going to replace them last year but they wanted $100 for each side. They dont bug me so much anymore.

part of the electronics package. The bronze mirrors are auto dimming mirrors. They would also have a black rubber piece around the outside of them.
If you have a blue tint on the driver's side and no black rubber around it, it's the standard non dimming mirror. If so, it was probably replaced due to delamination, an auto dimming mirror is over $225, a regular mirror is about $45.
Is that what you are referring to?

I had a 98 also, and noticed this too. Dealership replaced them (it was under warranty then).
Normally they have a bluish hue to them.
Test them one night- put your finger over the "eye" on your rearview mirror when a car is behind you. Covering the eye should lighten you rearview mirror, as well as you side mirrors. Taking your finger away should allow them to darken. If they work, the least you have to deal with is the "bronze" tint.
Hope this helps.

I'm sure I have the auto dimming mirrors. I'll have to check tonight to see if they work.
Like I said before - only the small one has the bronze tint so I'm betting the driver's side has been replaced. Now I just have to determine whether or not it's the auto dimming type.
