Next car a S8?

Is it just a "lead", or have you seen the car in the flesh?
I recently went to look at a 2001 S8 at an Audi dealer, that had ~28K miles on it, and it was priced at $47,900, with Audi Assured warranty, but there were cosmetic problems (including curb rash on the wheels) that the dealer refused to clean-up; they said it wasn't part of the Audi Assured deal.
They had just sold another S8 (similar miles, similar price) the day before. The dealer would not budge on the price, and I wouldn't go over $45K in light of the cosmetic problems. I went home and pondered, and in less than a week the car was sold, which made my decision for me.
My point here is that two S8's with double the miles (compared to the one you're looking at) sold quickly at a dealer, and I think that an S8 with only 14K miles on it would sell for a higher price than what you have indicated. Was it in an accident?

I paid $48K a few months ago for an immaculate 2001 black/caramel with 7k miles on it, aftermarket wheels and light tinting. The one you've found is a good deal as long as it's cosmetically OK and hasn't been in a wreck. With low miles like that, it's probably in great shape, and I don't think that price point is necessarily indicative of a wreck history or other problems. I also don't think the price is under the going rate, since I was just in the market. You can get 2001's now in the mid 40's, give or take, depending on mileage, exterior and interior color, etc. It's an incredible car; You won't regret the purchase.

I'm going to look at the car tomorrow. It belongs to my uncle's employer and has been under his car since new. It was going to traded-in and I happened to call him just before the deal went through. I'm only obligated to match the dealer trade-in.
