Default Re: DEFINATELY on my to do list for the 97.

It runs around $500 for the universal 4-6-8 cylinder NOS kit. Now it does get costly with the add-ons ... figure $300 for the remote bottle opener and $250 for the pressure-controlled heater. You can find cheap ones for less but then again ... they're cheap. Figure $1100 to do the exact install I did, still a darn good investment if you plan on keeping the car for any length of time, and remember you don't have to do EVERYTHING at once (just remember to run all the wires at once or you'll be sorry!). You can start with the $500 kit, then add the heater, then later add the opener. And don't forget you can always find used NOS kits on eBay for a bargain ... they're usually fine if they're a name brand. I have even heard that some of the cheap ones work well, but we are talking about some serious $$ for our engines and it would be a pity to find out that cheap brand wasn't such a bargain after all.

Actually I just removed the plastic cover, carefully taped things off, and hit it with (oh dear, I'm blushing on this one) ahem, Ford Red Engine Paint, ahem (hangs head in shame). Once you put the engine cover back on it looks like a factory job and compliments the lipstick line around the 4.2 lettering very well indeed.

Default Very nice for the money

Would love to see what it feels like. How much does it cost to get the bottle recharged? How long does it last? 60 seconds? 120 seconds?

I can't say I want to do it to my car.....but it's a very cool mod. We should do something for audipages.

A 10lb bottle is all that you can get to fit in the spare tire well, and that costs $50-$60 to fill. You can figure that you'll use about 0.4lbs of nitrous every 10 seconds on a 50-shot. So you'll get over 200 seconds of spray (theoretically 250 seconds) on a 10lb bottle. Trust me on this one ... 200+ seconds of spraying is A LOT of time.

did you have any issues getting the painted trim back in place w/ the added new thickness of the paint and clearcoat?

Also if there's a VAG-COM near you it would be cool to see the injector duty and O2 sensor logs

Yeah, it won't come close to fitting in there ... maybe a 5lb but I doubt even that would fit to be honest.

Default Re: Refresh my memory on VAG blocks guys; I'll get some data for you

I've actually been meaning to VAG her and see what the ECU thinks about everything. It's been about 2 years since I used VAG-COM on my S4, so refresh my memory on the blocks for O2, MAF, injector duty, and knock if you guys know them off the top of your head.
