Default When temperatures are consistently below 40 degrees, summer tires ...

... harden up so much that they become dangerously non-grippy. Do it **now** before you find yourself drifting wide thru a corner into oncoming traffic.

Happened to me. Not nice.

Default Concur - still have my summers on . .

4 nights ago it was wet and cold in mid-ohio - trying to slow down for a corner - my pre breaking didn't work so well.

No damage, just car wasn't responding as normal . . .

Big heavy cars need grip!!

Moral of the story? Snows on this w/end . . .

I did mine last weekend, didn't want to be in the garage when it was below 40 degrees.

Default Scoff - drive on the Y's in 2" and man up - wuss.

8-)

I tiptoed through 2x of "that" last winter - NOT FUN! Can you say HOLE PUCKER? Hell I coulda minted coins outta me sphincter...

Snow aside, I can't buy into the hard cold rubber theory - er - I don't think my tires are ever cold 8-).

Kidding aside, just be aware of what's underneath you and what the road temp / surface is like and you'll be fine for "whenever" you should get to installing them A/S's.

Me, I'm waiting to mount my Wintersport M3's for when the old right elbow starts acting up (about same accuracy as f'n "weathermen"). Course, I'm JNR.

If you have snow or cold weather, get snow tires. A/S are just a weak compromise in all conditions

Default Are you serious, Mark? I could use a pink slip for X-mas so I can take time off this winter,

but somehow I think I'd miss the paychecks!

I hope it's a temporary situation for you and nothing serious...
