O2 sensors information: Is this correct?

Is it correct that in Europe the ABZ engine only has Two 02 sensors? It took a while reading the Bentley schematics to realize that the U.S. versions have 4(Oh my god) 02 sensors.

the front two in our cars control the mixture and the rear two the emmisions

The USA has tighter controls than Europe on this so yes correct
