Default OEM mats - anyone else having this problem ?

I posted about this a while ago but never took a pic. The buttons just don't "click" into the floor posts so the mats move around.

You can also see the part that sticks out past where the floor pan bumps up, so it's always trying to push up.

I must be missing something obvious. I'm thinking I should either drill a hole in the plastic buttons on the mat, or I need longer posts in the floor.

I got these mats from the dealer when I bought the car....

Default I had the same problem

Got new mats from the dealer that would not click securely on the posts. So, I removed the buttons from the old mats and swapped them into the new ones - works perfectly.

you have 97-99 mats in a 00-03 A8. That's the problem.

Actually, you can seperate the round top of the snap from the bottom, now, with two pieces stareing at you the bottom will be the "male" end. This is wrong. The elves assembled the top caps wrong. pop off the round top cap from the (female) end. Now you have 3 pieces stareing at you. You want to snap together the round top and the (male) end. The female part then goes on the bottom of the mat, the top goes through it and will grab the posts in 97-99 car at least. Drove me nuts for 2 weeks and then I discovered the bavarian elves' error.
