OEM xenon convo - has anyone done one?
I'm thinking of swapping out the halogen headlight assemblies for OEM Xenon assemblies on my 98. Wondering if this is possible or advisable?
On the Xenon assemblies there are 2 connectors, halogen have one (will need to check Bentleys when I get home) so that will have to be addressed. Anyone know what the bottom connector is? (not the round one)
On the drivers side there seems to be enough room for the assembly and the ballast on the back, but the passenger side looks really tight, do the cars with Xenon have different intake runner/box or is the headlight assembly exactly the same size even with the ballast?
If anyone has an under hood photo of a pre face-lift car with Xenons, that would be greatly appreciated.

I have.......

Halogen on the left, Xenon on the right, these are both passenger side Projectors.
I bought Factory Xenon headlights with broken lenses on E-bay. I transferred the lens and the reflector from my old halogen headlight, (the headlight I bought had a dull reflector), to the Factory Xenon headlight.
Did a similar procedure on the passenger side.
And now I have Audi Factory Xenon's for a fraction of the cost.
It took a little time to find the original parts, but I think it was well worth it. Doing it this way will also get you the correct Projectors, (they are different, see above). There is room for the ballast on the passenger side. It's a straight swap with factory parts, no isssues.
