Oil change mishaps: Do you have any "good stories"?

Ok...so 2 years ago, going from OH to PA during Thanksgiving vacation. There is a terrible accident from Mt. Pleasant to Somerset. Basically, the PA turnpike was shut down for like 8 hours. After sitting in traffic, crawling through back roads for like 3 hours. I get a low oil warning on a hill. So...I pull over and fill up with more oil. I keep going at a crawling pace...then more oil level warnings. I kept filling up. It got to the point where if I revved it past 1000, it kept warning me! Stupid as I was, I thought I was actually burning the oil, but in reality, there was probably like 10 quarts or so of oil in the pan. What it was really doing was the crankshaft was frothing the oil in the pan, causing air bubbles, which the oil sump cannot pick up air bubbles, which the sensor will trigger a low oil warning. I finally see this black cloud of smoke enveloping the cars behind me. I am at this point, totally exhausted, frustrated, then now I am thinking a head gasket is blown. So I am freaking out and call my buddy who is a German car expert. He asks me if I had checked my oil level. I didn't and of course I had overfilled it. So somehow this guy in this hick gas station, points me to a 24hr Semi truck service station that his uncle works at...which is the only place open at midnight (the time by now)! So I get in there, sweet talk them for awhile just to work on the car (could not understand why I would want an oil change there), and paid like 100 dollars for an oil change with cheap oil (85bux/hr labor). After all this....I had missed my date with a prospective girlfriend who was connecting with me in PA that evening. I had to stay at this run down motel in Sommerset. I went to a dive bar and was hit on by a bar rat (2x my age and time did not treat her nicely!) What an experience!
So the moral of the story is that ALWAYS CHECK YOUR OIL LEVEL MANUALLY!

I was under my car putting the filter back on. My three year old daughter came out of the house, spotted the pan of old oil and a rag sitting next to it. Having seen me wash my car a dozen times, she decided to help. She had smeared and spilled a lot of oil before I realized what was happening.
