I just purchased a used '99 A8, and have a small oil leak. What I have noticed is oil dripping from the bottom of the oil filter. I changed the filter, o-ring and washers, hoping maybe it was one of those. The leak is still there, and seems to be coming from somewhere higher up on the engine and running down. I have read about the Camshaft seals, and the breather tubes. But was wondering which one of the 2 of those usually show up as drips from the filter? Or is it leaking somewhere else?

Valve cover the more likely suspect. Cam cover is at the back of the engine.

I checked the valve covers, and they are both pretty dry, as is that side of the block. The top of the oil filter housing looked a little oily, as does the oil pressure sender. Maybe a leaky oil pressure sender? Has anyone seen this before?
