oil leak question

Changed valve cover gaskets (thanks a million to www.audipages.com) about two weeks ago, I'm still getting a drip and that burnt oil smell that's familiar to me from my 1976 280C. Is it the oil cooler? I'm not getting any loss of coolant or any discoloration in my oil or coolant. The entire bottom is covered in oil, it almost looks like it's coming from the driver's side also. I could not pinpoint the leak. The question is could it be the oil cooler as recently posted?

If you have the burnt oil smell, something is dropping on the exhaust manifolds. Don't know what year you have, but if it's a pre facelift, I would bet it's coming from the covers on the back of the engine, espeically if the timing belt was changed and the sealing rings never replaced. These are on the back of the engine, the timing belt replacement procedure shows where they go.

Back of the engine. Forgive my ignorance but what covers? Is this something that can be fixed without dismantling the front of the car TB service style?

When you do the passenger side, make sure you either disconnect the fuel lines or DON'T lean on them, as they will start to leak. See high pressure fuel line repair on audipages.com for more info.
