Noticed that my ps fluid was a little low, so I went to local dealer. Normally, these guys are pretty good, but the guy working yesterday... Yikes! Said he'd never heard of G002000. Said the only ps fluid for my 97 A8 was G004000M2.

Bottle says not to mix, except with CHF11 (G002000 & G002012).

Does this mean that I can really add it to the existing G002000? I don't need to add very much. Just below the line.

Just order the stuff online. True, you're paying shipping yaddy-yaddah, but you're probably still paying less than what the $tealer is charging you, plus you will have the correct fluid.
The number he's stating is probably for the newer vehicles I would assume.<ul><li><a href="http://www.blauparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=G002000RED">Power Steering Fluid</a></li></ul>

Did some calling around and talked to a tech at an Audi dealership. He said it is mainly a numbering change and that it is OK to add the G004000M2 to a system filled with G002000.

Still a little disturbing that the guy "never heard" of G002000 even though it's been out there forever. Maybe it's just me, but if they're selling me G004000M2, I'm flushing all the old fluid out of the system while replacing with this new stuff.
