The shaft shouldn't slide under cornering forces if the bearing/bushing/thrust washer isn't worn ;-)
The angled wear on the brushes/commutator are a second-order failure........
Bottom line- the damn thing is worn out.

the secondary fan also fails on cars without the solar option.
I have mine replaced too and Audi in the Netherlands could provide it from local dealer stock. This made my independent mechanic remark that its probably a common item to go, even more when considered its a pretty rare car.
