The leather/Alcantara interior of my Maserati 228 held up quite well
The only problem I had with the dashboard was that it was the same light beige color as the rest of the interior and the sun reflection was bad sometimes.

Alcantara (ultrasuede) , im pretty sure is cheaper than high quality leather, on a per yard basis.
The seat/headliner will take the same labor to make in either "standard upholstery" - or alcantara
People like it - therefore want it - therefore will pay for it. So bend over , and get ... !
