hi fellow a8ers
I currently have a 98 4.2 with a xenon and corner light that are out
the light went sort of dim them just went out
the drivers side xenon and corner work fine
i think it might be electrical rather than a burnt out xenon- since the corner light is out as well
where is the fuse box
anyone else have this problem
is it under warranty?
thanks
DC
Also how often should spark plugs and tranny fluid be changed

it could be the igniter, or the control unit, or the bulb. swapping them between sides is a good way to tell which is at fault. you could try pulling the codes, but i doubt that it will show up anything - i take it that your hid-warning is displayed?

yup hid warning is displayed
think it could be a blown fuse- mmmm what a nice simple fix that would be
I don;t think its the ignitor- as the corner light went out at the same time- those lights are not linked to the ignitor are they?

Each has a connector at each of the components. The headlight electrical connection doesn't go with the corner light electrical connection.
Look at a wiring diagram for them if you have the Bently. That should tell you what is common between them.

The fuse should be in the box in the passenger side floor board. Even if it doesnt look completely blown you might want to replace it. I had the same thing happen and the fuse looked okay, after replacement it all worked fine.
