Onstar Battery and car alarm problem.

Onstar Battery and car alarm problem.
Vag Com'd the S8 this morning as the car alarm was blaring on and off all night to see if I had any codes. I only had the Onstar battery code saying it needed to be changed.
A. was wondering where the location of this battery is as I have never changed it before.
B. would this cause the alarm to go off by itself as this battery is the emergency backup to Onstar?
Never had an issue before with the alarm until yesterday. It has been raining quit a bit in the past 3 days but there is no water inside the car either that I can see.
Any help would be great thanks.
