Default Not a bad choice.. more of a classic and...

Of course you'll need an RS2 to complete the Stuttgart Duo!

Default Had a 99 . . impressions were very solid and well built. . . to me was

built like a tank. . . no problems and no complaints. .. sold after about 4 months because it was BORING. Would be a nice car to own as your last car so they could bury you in it. . suspect it would take at least 500 years for the worms to eat through.

Default Wouldn't that car be a maintenance nightmare?

A 92? Do you know how many things would break on that car? Every hose would need replacement, the suspension would need to be completely rebuilt with all new rubber components.

And my personal opinion is that it might be a good looking car, but not nearly as good looking as an A8, and its body is now dated.

But if that's what you want, go for it! They have it buy it now for $26K, gee, you could sell your 00 A8, add 2K and get a 92! :-)

Good luck.

Default Get 2001 for same price

This car was ahead of its time. My favorite example of this today is the new S4 with a 4.2. This guy has a 2001 A8 for $26.500. The link is basically a 2001 E430 for $25,000.

I liked the E500 but would only replace my 97 with a newer car. I could possibly go with the E430 as the resale is better for the MB long term.

As a numbers guy, the MB looks better on paper but I may take the A8 again.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2462637304&cat egory=6335</a
