oxygen sensors B1/S2, B2/S2
Has anyone replaced the oxygen sensors themselve? I Probably should replace both behind the cats. Getting CEL, comes back after I clear.
I'm getting no activity, and electrical malfunction codes from B2/S2, and B1/S2.
Is the procedure difficult?
Thanks!

Pre-cat ones are reasonably easy.
You'll need a stanard O2 sensor socket. I bought a little set at Advance Auto Parts, I think. The sensors are accessible between the firewall and the block. You'll have to remove the air intake, but I don't think the MAF had to come off.
I think the post-cat ones are plainly visible from the underside of the car.

You need to troubleshoot them
Have you unplugged them for any maintenance procedure?
There is a procedure for a given code to troubleshoot.
If you are getting no function from them, it sounds more like something is unplugged.

Re: You need to troubleshoot them
Hey paul,
I have not unplugged them for anything. I have been getting the CEL for a while, but only after a long drive. I would re-set it, and it wouldn't come back for a while(next long trip). It was always the same code. Just recently I got the new code of electrical malfunction(sorry, I don't know the code #'s off the top of my head) for the B2/S2 and after a re-set, it comes back shortly after driving. I know I have to do the trouble shoot per the Bently procedure, but I was just wondering about the O2 replacement procedure just in case it turns out they need to be replaced. I'll trouble shoot and see what I find. Thanks.

Yeah, I have the O2 sensors, just wondering the procedure to install. Do you have to drop the exhaust, or can they be accessed without moving anything? I have a O2 sensor socket as well.
