Absolutely everything!
I can't understand why you're so willing to pass on the responsibility for electronic and/or software failures to Siemans. If the engine block cracks, is it someone elses fault because Audi didn't mine the bauxite and didn't operate the furnaces that convert it to aluminum? Audi is the only party responsible for insuring that everything works.

Your correct. If the engine block cracks since they make it, its there fault. Its their responsibility to test the heck out of the coil packs. Which they could do at the factory but these problems were not immediate. Bad software from Siemens is Siemens' fault and partially to blame is Audi for not throughly testing it before its release to its consumers. What I was getting at is that Audi/VW sometimes takes heat for stuff that may have been out of their own direct control.

Who is responsible, Audi, the sub or both? Ultimately, Audi is responsible. When a component part fails, Audi answers to the owner and the sub answers to Audi. Its that simple.
