Default Paging PaulW - A6 V8 Timing belt questions.

Someone from the A6 forum suggested you'd be able to tell me how to change the timing belt in my 4.2 A6.

I'd need to know if there's any special tools requiered or skills greater than that of an average DIYer. I have access to an almost complete workshop (friend from work) and although this would be my first V8 timing belt (did it many times in Toyota diesel engines before) I will have my Bentley manual with me, as well as the help from my buddy.

Also, what is the auggested mileage for T-belt change?

Thanks in advance,
Andres G

Default I suggest reviewing the procedure

Look at your procedure in the Bently. What does Audi recommend for the timing belt in the A6 4.2? The A8 is 90K miles.

There are three special tools required, they are about $170 total, the Bently shows them.

Good luck!

Default Thanks. I'm still at 60K, so I'll wait until spring to tackle the job.

The manual states the same for all V8 engines, 90K miles
