Default Paging wheel and tire guru's, a little help please.

Running a 19x9.5 now with a ET25. I put a ruler behind the spoke of the wheel and I've got exactly 10mm of space between it and the caliper.
Now I'm shopping for a new set of wheels and tires for track day events.
I'm looking at special ordering a Enkei RPF1 in a 18x9 with a ET of 35 but it's a forged wheel and more flat face designed than what I have.
I put those figures through this wheel and tire calculator (link below) and it says everything will move 10mm towards the brakes and suspension. The wheels will not be returnable so I'm trying to make double sure it will work.
Also, I can only find one "competition" tire in a 255/40/18 and it's a Hoosier R6. I can run some other sizes but all smaller width. I'd like to try and keep 255 mm of tread on the ground if possible.
So do you guys see any reason this may not work? I'm thinking, worst I'll have to do is get some very small spacers, but rather not.

Oh yea, I have the H&R dampers and springs coming soon. Is that going to hurt me on clearance etc.
Thoughts on the whole thing...

pretty cool wheel and tire size calculator

Default The only thing is that wheel size and offset will give you back setting so

you can calculate to see if you clear your suspension, but depending on how the wheel is designed will determine clearance. Two different wheels with the same specs can yield difference results because they are designed differently. The only way to be sure is to test fit. Some wheels have high caliper clearance vs some wheel don't.

Unless you have big brake upgrade with huge calipers, +35ET will clear most some upgraded brakes and and most stock brakes. I really can't remember any body here having clearance problems with ET35 wheels.

Default Re: Thanks, good info...

We'll see who else chimes in and see what else is out there in a ET35. But I agree with you and that is what the guy who is trying to sell me the wheels is saying, is they will clear because of the design. I'm pretty confident the wheels themselves will work now. My next biggest concern is if I lower the car w/ the H&R set up on the way, will the 255/40/18's be alright etc. The back will come down 1.25 and the front adjust.

Default I run 25540R19 on mine so yours will be an inch shorter. If the wheels clear

the calipers, you will have no problems with that size tire. You have plenty of clearance. By the way you live close to my service centers. Let me know if you need to test fit.

You have service centers? Yea, let me know who to contact, I'd rather put $ in your pocket than somebody I don't know if possible.
