Default Park sensor only audible warnings?

so the A8 will be ordered next month (finally)
anyways
the parking sensor on the a8..
is that only an audible warning or does it also have visual warning (like the BMW 7 / MB)
and if there's a visual warning is it on the MMI display or is it like the MB version...

Default AUDI-ble only :)

visible warning lights? unless you're hard of hearing, you only need the audible. visible is, in my opinion, a poor idea due to the fact that you should still be keeping your eye on the objects in front and rear of you.

besides, the a8 allows you to change the frequencies for front and rear and adjust the volume settings. therefore, you differentiate from objects from the rear ones.

btw, congrats.

you can see what i'm talking about on the picture..
it's handy when you're too lazy to turn your head :P

in the MB version you'll have to look at the rear window to see the lights.. it's still kinda handy tho..

btw..
it'll be ordered black-amaretto/black
3.7 (more then enough in the netherlands.. it doesnt get any flatter then this :P

Default interesting. i agree that it can be handy...

but no sensory device is as good as your own eyes and ears. These cars (MB and BMW) are almost causing you to trust what the vehicle sees. it's a nice device but if my neck still turns, I'm still gonna use my own judgement. god forbid I see some kid riding his bicycle across my rearward path and I decide to just reverse it b/c the darn screen says there's nothing three feet away from me. So while I'm looking in the screen, the kid is thinking that I've got an eye on things in back of me. there's no way in that situation, I'm not going to hit the kid or even a pedestrian. these systems do what they are supposed to do: warn of non-moving objects. your eyes paint you a thousand bits of information vs. one bit of information that that system gives you. shame that BMW and MB are inferring that their drivers can keep their eyes off the road. i think audi chose not to put such devices in the A8L simply b/c driving and the choices that you make should still be under YOUR control.

There's enough gadgets in our cars to make you fumble around for weeks and weeks anyway so you won't miss such a thing once you get the car!

post pictures!

Default Damn it... US gets screwed again!

you get:
adaptive headlights
sport seats? I'm assuming these have bigger side bolsters?
fingerprint advanced key

do you guys get the TV function as well?

Euro RS6s get the six speed manual.
A3/S3 is a great car too! of course, we don't get these either.

AudiAG loves making us Americans feel inferior.

When you get the car, tell us if your TV function works. I'd love to somehow get my hands on that module.

sports seats are indeed a bit bigger and 16 wat adjustible

the Euro rs6 doesnt have a manual..
we do have the avant tho
a3/s3 is great.. the s3 is one of my fav. cars ever.<ul><li><a href="http://www.audi.co.uk/newcars/model.jsp?section=/models/a8/a8">click and on site click configure to see the euro options</a></li></ul>

Yes, TV is not really necessary at all but I wish all my buttons had some functionality.

I get people coming into the car and they see the CD/TV button and ask if there's a TV in here. Just wish I could say yes for once.

Is there a good supply chain of Audi parts in your area?
