Default Passenger Mirror

My mirror developed this blemish from within. Has anyone seen this? Is there a replacement method available? It looks like fluid is behind the mirror. It gets hazy on humid days as well. Sorry for the flash. The defect is along the top edge.

Default Find replacement mirror at junkyard online....

The glass snaps off so you can just replace the glass part without removing the mirror from the car.

There are instructions somewhere around here. A search should find them.

I went thru this a few months ago and it worked out perfectly.

Default I though they only operated when ambient was below a certain temp...

Are you saying the heating function always operates and can be disabled via the left-right selector ****? In what position would the **** be if heating was turned off?

Thanks, I was able to get it off to examine. New part is $174. I will research used parts. If anyone has and recommendations for used locations, please pass it along.

Default Question for you (hard to find part)

In my 2000 A8, in the center console just behind the shifter is a compartment, in that compartment is a rotary know and switch.

Do you know the part number and do you have it in stock?
