Is this the pump you are referring to? Is the noise that makes a whistling high pitch noise when the engine is hot?
I took my car today to the dealer for a few oil leaks since the CPO warranty is up in a few days and I asked them to check out this high pitch frozen bearing like noise ( not loud ) , and they said its the after run pump and its normal. I never heard that the S8 has an after run pump so I started digging, something doesn't sound right and I don't think the noise is "normal" either.
Can you describe the noise of the valve /pump you talked about back then on that old post?

I guess mine is at the begining. Do you know if this would be covered under the CPO warranty?

I just read the warranty. If this falls under climate controls it should be covered.

Where the heater hoses go in....there are (2) two pin connectors there.....unplug one or both of them (I think the one I refer to has purple on the connector somewhere).
