The Pagid Orange is a full race pad, and ...
will squeal very badly on the street when cold, so the Blue may be the best you can do for now.
I'm surprised that you can't get the Ferodo's ... they're made by a U.K. company! Here we can get the DS2500 street and DS3000 track pad front and rear for the A8, '01+ S8, and my Alcon's. Pads may be hard to find for your '97 S8 front caliper, but does you rear caliper look like one of these, my S8 rear caliper or the A8 caliper from the audipages brake procedure? I've seen both steel and aluminum versions, and they both use the same Ferodo DS2500 part number is FCP541H.

The rears are the same as US A8s except they have vented disks
Paul and I had those done in a hour.
The fronts are massive, and apparently totally different. The guys a Hawk told me the dual piston pads I bought would work but they did not. The front rotors are 314x30mm, I found those at IPA.com.
Paul found a guy in the UK that appears to hve the right pads (from the pic) for 80 GBP. So I will go that route.
It was still fun day, Paul has an awesome place.

Paul,
Who is the guy in the UK you found for pads??
This may be a good contact for the future for us A8/S8 owbers in the UK.
Thanks
Alan S

Here is the ebay link. I think I will get these.
From the pic they look right. They have the hole for the guide pin on the bottom, and the thick part on top for the clips.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=10372&item =2487604557&rd=1</a

I was planning on putting up a procedure for the front 4 piston euro calipers
The rear procedure is still the same.
The euro A8/S8 has a rear vented rotor, the U.S. bound cars only got the solid rotor.
