Wy wouldn't the A8 transmission handle it ? The German ETKA (Audi Ersatzteile Katalog - Audi Parts Catalog) lists the A8/S8 with the same transmission. Only the electronic was changed.

I reprogrammed my transmission like the European S8 (quicker response out of the A8)

(the wheels/tires are for sale)

Default I believe tranny is rated for 350 ft-lb, ...

and the 360 hp S8 is 317 ft-lb @ 3400 rpm.

How much do you want for for the wheels/tires? What is their condition?

Default The tranny should be OK up to ~400 hp, but beyond that ...

you're probably beyond it's torque rating and in unknown territory. I expect that there's little that be done to the tranny itself, but I would certainly install an oil-air ATF cooler in series with the existing oil-water ATF cooler. If you use that HP, the torque converter and transmission (and motor) are going to be dumping a lot of heat into the radiator.

Default hmm, Nice chart btw! RS6 tranny?

Well im asking because the company i work for my boss and I have decided to get my a8 out on some tracks for some publicity (a small home based computer building company, pretty much i wanted money for my ride so we came to an agreement hehehe) and so long story short im going to be trying to pull ~500bhp naturally asperated. Which is why im wondering what will be happening tranny wise, would an RS6 tranny work at all? or are we dipping into welding and firewall destruction heh. If thats the only option to have it handle the power.. i guess ill be savin my pennies for awhile heh

Default Good question. ...

I have no idea whether the RS6's tranny is altogether different than the A8's or just modified.

BTW: Where are you located and what tracks did you have in mind? Perhaps I could join you.
