It won't work. Surf the phatnoise forum for numerous posts from irate customers who want to switch cars with their units. The VW/Audi one has special circuitry (or firmware) to make it compatible with factory radios. You can make a VW or Audi unit work but not the other Phatboxes.

Clair sells it in the US for $599.95. Maybe you can get a similar price "down under". I got a super deal on a VW one but that price is now within throwing distance of Clair's. As PW intimated, I had a bit of trouble finding the parts to make a special cable for the VW-to-Audi conversion.

I wonder what the relationship is here. I don't think Kenwood has been used in VAG oem products. Maybe the manufacturer distributes this product with different protocols to Audi, VW, BMW, Kenwood, or anyone else with a specific application.
